View Full Version : Cherry footstool advice

I built this little footstool out of some recovered cherry from an old house that was being torn down and i'm not real sure how to top it with some sort of upholstery.
I've thought about a mdf base with cushion padding wrapped with leather and leather tacs around the apron, but i wanted to get some advice before it finished it.
sorry for the image quality. i should have taken a pic outside today.
It measures 14"x 18" and finished with a coat of blo, sundried and darkened, then a top coat of a mix of blo and poly.

Looks like a nice size for an ottoman. If that's what you're after then you could use the same material as the couch. If it is an ottoman I wouldn't use leather since it could pick up a bad stain.

but i couldn't remember how to spell it when i was writing the original post......lol
that's a good point about the leather.
