It has been several years since I have had any green pecan. Not much now....a four inch diameter limb around six feet long. Enough to play with, like this:

I really like the way the dark part of the wood seems to ascend, subtly suggesting the presence of a flame.

Henry, thanks.....I turned the rough log round, mounted between centers. I cut a dovetail to fit my chuck and turned it the rest of the way in it.....

Frank, the flame you see was a beautiful purple color fresh turned....as the air worked on it, athe browner it got......

That's a nice goblet Doug. Would be great for a pecan daiquiri!
