May not be new but at least its a new style for me. I cut the upper blank length to (standard length + thickness of centerband + ¼"), used a tube that was standard length + thinkness of centerband. Drilled out the ¼" with a bit the same diameter as the 7mm bushings OD. Turned the lower blank BtoB so the ¼" hollow in the upper tube would overlap the lower tube. Material is cedar.

Nice job on that George! I tried doing something like that once and failed miserably. Cool Pen. I also couldn't help but to browse the rest of your gallery. Nice work all around! That Mahogany Jewelry Armoir is awesome!!:)

Yes, losing the center band can make the lowly slimline kit very versitile indeed. Does that bulge on the upper barrel allow enough clearance under the clip for use in a pocket? Looks tight from the picture.

Good looking pen.. I rarely use the centerband on my slimline pens.. The kits a very versatile with creativity as you have exhibited here! Nice!
I also as others have said like your other work. Your teak table is really nice.. i like the thick top like that!
