The plans for this chest came from WOOD J/J '02, issue 142.

Constructed of cherry and honey locust. Body is finished with 3 coats Watco Danish Oil Clear, the top has 6 coats of a rubbed on finish of pure tung oil & spar varnish.

Really good job. Love the contrast between the cherry and locust. Someone will love this for a long time.

Great job. With a beautiful hope chest like that, I'm guessing there isn't much left for the recipient to hope for. Thanks for showing it off.

Mike, that's one beautiful chest. I would never have expected locust to look like that. Absolutely stunning!

Most excellent, as expected.
The locust is surprisingly heavy and dense, yet routed and cut cleanly.

Mack,

That is one beautiful piece of furniture. I really like the combination of woods you used.

I have one question for you, where did you get the hardware for it? In particular, the shocks (at least that's what they look like?)
