I recently purchased several board feet of Lyptus @ $3.91 per board foot. I am curious as to what its board foot cost is in other sections of the country (world as in Stu in Tokyo). My initial impression is it is hard, rips/crosscuts clean (WWII), planes nicely, and sands slick. I had a 320 grit piece of sandpaper in my bib. I used it to see what results I would get. Light sanding, impressive smoothness (like silk).

You've got a good price. It's about $4.65 here. Maybe quality is better here? :)

I pay $3.50 to $4 at local woodcraft. Good wood to work but watch out for splinters.
