All the boxes for the move have replaced all my storage space. Here is the result. All these turning blanks are being thrown out. Some of them have already cracked but there's lots that haven't. I just don't have the time or the space...so since I can't do anything with them I gotta haul them away or burn.:(

I put a 4 foot drywall square in there for scale

Just throw a tarp over them and see what is left of them when you move?
Thats a bummer John!

Ok...I took your advice and threw a tarp over it as best I could. We'll see how they look when it's time to go. (I'm not completely stubborn!):)
On the up-side...we're moving to the place where all this wood came from. I'll be right on top of the source!

Wow John, that's a shame. Wish I was closer to help you out.
What about that "other" guy named Hart from Ohio that posts sometimes. Maybe he or other locals could help relieve your misery. Or a local turning club. Or the new blank exchange in the other post. Or SOMETHING! Anybody out there that can help ?
There's GOTTA be a way to rescue that wood!

I'm NOT addicted- I'm NOT!

Awwwwww what everybody else said! Hope some of it is rescued by the turning police there in Cleveland. There's got to be a turners society somewhere close by?

Geez John.........bummer.......maybe Tyler wants them.......think how many Freedom pens he could make.......

Is wood so plentiful around that part of America that you can't give it away locally??? That'd be worth THOUSANDS up here!

Well dag nab it...

John, I store all my wood outside in log form. I have also found that Dollar Store 30 gallon trash cans make good storage bins for sawn blanks. The thin $8 ones. They keep the moisture content sealed in pretty well, are cheap, are easy to move, and you can keep them outside. With my little shop they make for great storage. The only thing is, you can't tell your woodturning buddies or they'll make off with your trash cans.

Thanks for all the great suggestions!! Maybe this tarp thing will buy me some time. The weather is pretty mild right now and everything is anchorsealed. If I had the time, I'd just pack it all up and ship it one box at a time to y'all. But, my hands are tied for now. Thanks again...We'll see.;)

You'd also need to be Bill Gates. Talk about a small fortune in shipping costs.

I'm imaginarily working as hard as possible to help John. Already made three imaginary round trips in the Super Duty hauling those blanks to your new place.:D These imaginary gas prices are killing me;)

Also, I just finished a beautiful imaginary ambrosia maple HF from that imaginary box of imaginary blanks you sent:D :D Imaginary photo attached.:D
