Hi everyone

I'm building a cabinet for over the commode and am planning on a full overlay door. I've got the Blum hinges from a local cabinet supply house, the guy said, "set them about 3/16" from the door edge and you'll be fine. I went to the Blum web site and can't decipher their chart.

So, how far back from the edge do I drill?

Thanks for the help

Jay

The Blum table says that for a 17 mm overlay (that's a shade over 5/8") you put the edge of the 35 mm hole 6 mm (1/4") from the edge of the door. I'm presuming the mounting plate is what Blum calls 0 mm height.

Hi Jay

As a European I working with those hinges all the time.

The full or half overlay hinges are installed the same way, only the hinge shape is different.

I think that what is more important, is the location of the center of the 35 mm drill.

It should be 22.5 mm from the door edge.

Maybe, its better to make a jig like I did, for positioning of the drill

Thanks so much, I am going to use my drill press just to keep things secure but I think I'll drill a test piece and use that for my template.
