New tool, out of the blue

This counts as the most unusual way I've ever acquired a new tool.

This month my employer sent me a small catalog to choose a gift, to recognize my 15-year anniversary with the company.

In among the usual watches, globes, wall clocks, etc... I found to my delight a DeWalt DW304P reciprocating saw.

It arrived today, and looks and runs great. What a great idea to include a power tool among the gift choices.

Nice gift.

That brings to mind the time our marketing director asked me if she should include little personal battery-powered fans in the gift bags she was giving out at an open house. I told her I wouldn't bother since even though they would have been nice in some the outdoor parts of the program, I couldn't see a bunch of roofing contractors from Arizona standing around fanning themselves with their little personal fans when they are standing in shade.
