I've has this blank sitting around a year or so, finally got around to it this weekend. This wood was very hard, but finished up nicely. Sanded to 800 grit, light coat of Watco then buffed. Polished up like glass. 5" across by around 3" tall.

Just stunning wood and to see a natural edge with stock like this is a treat. Great stuff Travis.

Never had the opportunity to turn that wood, Travis. So you are one up on me. Shoot, I would never do it as much justice as this piece. Wonderful!

Awesome, as to be expected from you, Travis! :) Love the form! Man, the NE on that piece looks as though it could easily take more than just a bit of skin off if not careful! Great job. :)

That is really nice, REALLY NICE...........

Why don't you go back to racing motorcycles for a year or two, that would give all of us a chance (just a chance) of catching up ;) :D

Super Duper piece.

Cheers!

Another beauty for sure Travis. Don't cha just love the texture of the Malee natural edge? It remains me of a gnarly cavern.....with sharp teeth! :)

WOW, that's great! I have a couple of fairly big malee blanks waiting for some inspiration but, maybe your piece is just that inspiration.

Take some exceptional wood and turn it over to Travis and look at what appears, art.

Yet another PERFECT turning. The curl with the NE looks like flames - probably `cause it is so hot.

Real neat NE bowl Travis. It supprises me that it is as small as your dimensions suggest. Looks bigger, but I had my glasses on when I looked at it.:)
