Very pretty. I like the form---it looks like a rotation of a perfect hyperbola.]

That’s beautiful Lee!
The slightly darker lamination brings me back to recognizing the circularity on the horizontal cutting plane, while the grain on the upper and lower parts suggest curves (conic sections), that are both tighter and flatter than the bowl sides. So essentially, a very broad range of curvatures are expressed in a single work.

Very nice, Lee! I'm thinkin' you're catching on to this "spinny thing" quite nicely! :) BTW, the finish looks excellent on it, as well. Care to share your finishing regime? :)

Care to share your finishing regime? :) :cool:With this wood, it's almost like cheating, the stuff almost finishes itself.

Sand (on the lathe) to 320 dry, then with 600 wet using mineral spirits. Once off the lathe, wipe on a thick coat of GF SealACell, rub it in, wipe it off, repeat. Buffed out with tripoli and then with carnuba wax. That's it.

That finish is surprising Lee. I would have never thought you could get a gloss like that with the procedure you used. I really like your choice of woods too. Very complimentary. :)

Ok...maybe not.:oGiven my brute-force turning technique, something from Nine-Inch Nails would probably be more appropriate.:D
