hmmm just finished building our 6 person day-room Curly Soft Maple Trestle/Tressel table (haven’t put the finish on yet…); was planning on making the table 30” from floor to table top…somehow it turned out to be 30 ½” high. The current table is 29 ½”….I can cut-off ¼” to a ½” if necessary….but I would rather not since the base is already glued up.
Any thoughts?
Thanks,
Phil

Hi Phil

Have a look at this site, they have the design standards.

Phil, it really depends on your chairs. Chairs (seat bottom height) can come tall and short. What are yours? If they are short, 30 1/2" is probably too tall.

Phil,
Most tables these days seem to be from 28" to 32" so your 30 1/2" is right around the average. I would leave it at the height that it is.

Thanks for the link to the woodbin. I think it will come in handy in the future. Already added to the bookmarks.
