I just finished my latest effort and thought I would share it with the people whose inspiration and advice helped me along the way.

It is a cherry nightstand I plan on using as a telephone table. The plans are from Woodsmith.

Firsts for me this project:
1. Cherry Plywood (the case)
2. Analine Dye (The top, base, and knobs)
3. Dovetails other than in shop cabinets (Incra)

The finish is BLO followed by several coats of satin poly and a good rubbing with wax.

Of course its not perfect, but it turned out pretty good. The way I look at it, I added to my skill set and had a blast doing it. Life is good.

Thanks for looking. As always gentle criticism welcome. (I know the drawer is not quite centered, I have to get the block plane out and try and fix that)

Ron, you done good.

Love the look of it, the colors and the small details, like the dovetails, very nice.

What wood did you use on the drawer sides?

I'm just asking, as it looks very toothy like the Keyaki we get in Japan, is it Ash?

Nice job, thanks for sharing, and keep them coming.

Cheers!

Ron, you keep making stuff like that and you'll lose that "newbie" badge in a heartbeat. Real nice work, and I like the different shades of the wood.
