This Hollow Form thing is pretty interesting. However, I think I need either a smaller hollowing tool than the Hollowmaster or a whole larger than 1 3/8" or maybe there is a better way. Didn't complete the hollowing all the way. Anyway it was fun trying. 3 3/8h x 4 1/2w"

Pretty nice looking, Chris. I bet that was interesting turning that in oak.

Very nice work. Wouldn't have guessed it was that small: those pictures make it look like it's a lot bigger, maybe about the size of a bowling ball.

IMHO, you stopped at the right time: something about that grain makes me think it was just waiting for an excuse to explode all over the shop. Evil wood.

Looks very nice, Chris. How far into the hollowing did you get?

Well, not very far. I drilled a 1 3/8" hole with a forstner bit to start with. Couldn't get the bit on the hollowmaster to cut good, so I only hollowed about a 1/2" toward the front. It would probably help to see someone actually do this. Thanks for the comment! Have a great night.

Geepers...if you can turn 'em this nice in oak, just think what you can do with something "easier" to turn! Oak can be murder!!! Nice job!

Oak?... you da man.

Nice work Chris. Yep, watching that tool being used would be helpful.

That is some nice work with Oak Chris. I wonder if Oak is as hard to turn dry as Locust is? Nicely done Chris.
