I have a Logitech ball mouse how do I get it to open a thread in a different window without closing the main menu. Or do I still have to right click on on the thread & then left click to open it.

When I depress the scrolling wheel with the pointer over a link, it opens in another tab. I imagine that you could get windows to do that, too.

A Logitech ball mouse doesn't have a scrolling wheel .

Here is a pic of my mouse.

Bart, if you're using Internet Explorer, while you're clicking on the link, hold down the "Ctrl" key on your keyboard. Whala! New window. :) Also, if you're in IE and want to type in a new url, hit the "Ctrl" and "O" keys at the same time and it will open a url field for you to type in the new url. :)

EDIT: If you're on the main SMC page, "New Posts" for instance, and you want to keep the main page up and go to a post with a fresh window, do the same BUT, hold down the "Shift" key when you do it. :)

Thanks John the shift key trick works in both Explorer & Avant.

Cool! Avant must be similar in operation to IE. I know a lot of the same stuff works in a like manner for Opera, as well. :)
