Blame Raymond for this one.:p And yes, it does get just a bit exciting watching those corners go whizzing by: most of the sanding took place by hand, off the lathe...way way way off the lathe, thankyouverymuch.:eek:

6"x6"x3/4" poplar, looked a little plain on the lathe so I scraped out a flat spot on the inside and added the insert afterward (1/32" birch ply).

I'm sure this will stir up some comment.........but I think adding laser work to turning produces a beautiful compliment! Lee I think you've found yourself a very special niche and you are filling it well. Great piece! Wood....form.....finish ....embelishment! Excelllent!
