One of the things I like to turn is a lidded bowl with a finial handle. I find that women like these for temporary storage of their jewelry. Some use the handle as a temporary storage spot for rings and bracelets.

This is one of the projects I will be teaching during my class at ASWR. It is just a box with a fancier shape and a handle. Sometimes I put a round mirror under the lid.

This one is 6 1/2" in diameter and 7" tall to the tip of the handle in some pretty cherry I think.... The handle walnut, I should have used an ebony pen blank.

Yet again, I am put in awe by wood, form, fit, and finish. Beautiful work, Mike. Any plans on sending out "Measured Drawrings"? :)

Thank you all for the positive feedback. One of the things I am doing in getting ready for my class is preparing a tutorial for all the projects we will be turning that week. This lidded bowl is one of the projects in my tutorial. Henry, I don't have any measured drawings just some plans in my mind. Start with an idea and turn the wood until I get something that resembles the idea....

How do you do it Big Mike?
That is, how do you produce an entirely new and original form in each and every turning session???
Cool guy,
Frank

That is just neat and real pretty too. Your talent never ceases to amaze me. Just wish I could justify going to one of your classes.

Henry, I don't have any measured drawings just some plans in my mind.

Where do you get one of these "mind" things. I could sure use one. I don't have any plans, but I like storage space just in case.

It's really beautiful Big Mike.
