Just finished this, it's a gift for my daughter. When I was turning it I had doubts whether it would hold together, it was almost punky. But it turned out ok with the help of a liberal dose of c/a glue. It's 10" x 2 1/4" with 5/32" walls.

I turned a bowl out of some pretty nasty (almost rotten) maple. Figuring it must surely be dry, I turned it. It did NOT hold its shape at all, but everyone who saw it loved it because of the grain. I would post a pic, but gave that bowl to the in-laws.
Yours looks a lot nicer than mine!

That truly is a pretty bowl. I'm looking forward to finally getting a lathe so I can try my hand at some of these lovely forms...

Love the bowl. Really worth all the CA and effort. What finish did you use? The color looks dark for maple and not your typical spalting pattern.
