My 1st turning using my mini hollowing rig on my Jet mini. From a scrap of Masur Birch left over from a couple blanks that I got from Mike Stafford. Blackwood lid/finial and foot. 5" to the top of the finial by 3 3/4" diameter. Finished with natural Watco then buffed.

Wonderful Travis!

I agree Mark. The foot seems to balance the top.

Great job. Love the form and the contrast between the dark and light woods. And the figure of the birch is outstanding.

WOW. We're going to have to come up with some new words to compliment you with as amazing, awesome, fantastic, stupendous, etc... aren't enough. That is downright perfect.

I don't think anyone's used superb yet. The form is perfect, and the wood is like nothing I've seen before.

That's a good'un alright. I really like that shape. I always have a hard time not ending up with a flat spot on the side. Great job.

Oh, Travis...that just "flows"! Wonderful!

David Fried

Yes, "just flows" is a good description.

It evokes two wonderful images from me. At first glance it appears to have a nice heart shape. Then the shape of the finial makes me think of an apple. Both appealing images! Great work.

Could you occasionally post pictures of funnels and shards just to remind us you're mortal?:D
