Here is a bowl that I turned recently on the PM3520. It is the thinnest (1/8")bowl that I have turned to date and was easier to turn this thin as ther is less give in this lathe. It is about 5 inches in diameter and is finished with tung oil and then buffed.

Nice is a nice looking bowl Joe. Walnut is one of my favorite woods to turn. I like the contrast of the sap wood. You are keeping your new lathe busy, thanks for showing. GT

Having the stability, mass and smoothness of your lathe really can contribute to turning thinner with more success. Any vibration can be a killer when the walls are getting "down there". Nice job!

Joe,
That bowl looks great. I really like how the sapwood accentuates the grain direction.
Nice work!

Really like the sapwood contracting with the heartwood. This bowl has more sapwood than I usually find on the walnut around here. Great job. Enjoy the new lathe.

Gorgeous. Absolutely gorgeous. Seeing all these lovely bowls, hollow forms, boxes, et. al, makes me wonder how I will ever measure up once I get started...

Great looking bowl there. I was wondering how you finished off the bottom. When I get the wall thickness down that thin my cole jaws try to crush the bowl and I have to take VERY light cuts because i can't tighten it up too much. Thanks for showing that one.
