Here are some of my early attempts at tool making.

Combination Square of Brass and Walnut.

Depth gauge of Walnut. I have a smaller one also.

Dividers of some weird wood I came across. I think the fella who gave it to me said it could be African Walnut.

Comments and Criticisms Welcome.

Not too much happening on the Smithing Sites where I usually hang out, so I got in a picture taking mode. Sorry for all the posts this morning.

No need to apologize, homemade tools are always fun to see. Looks like you're a natural at this, keep us updated.

Harry, how does the mechinism work on the square?

Lars, the holding rod is made from 1/4 inch bronze brazing rod with a 1/8 slot milled in it and then the corners filed square, with 1/4 fine threads cut on the end with a turned and knurled brass nut and a flat washer of brass.

Harry, thanks for posting the pix and explanation. I may try my hand at one of those. I like them. Thanks. Lars

Harry, I was serious about the offer to buy a pair of dividers. Any chance you would be willing to sell me a pair? pfduffy@verizon.net Thanks.
