Does anyone have experience with either the Crown Classic bench chisels or the Sorby heavy duty chisels. I won a gift certificate to Woodcraft and would like to use it for a new set of high quality chisels so my choices are limited to those that Woodcraft offers. Thanks Dave

I don't know about the crown chisels but I do have some Sorbys. They are excellent chisels and I wouldn't hesitate to buy more.

I have a set of Sorby chisels and I am quite pleased. I bought a pair of Crown marking knives and I am not pleased. Small sample and oranges to tangerines but I will not recommend Crown.

Hello,

Woodcraft has a brand new set of Pinnacle chisels that appear to be of very high quality. They are made for Woodcraft in Germany, and are only $74.95 for a set. Nice.

Good Luck,
Dan Heine

I wouldn't rule out the Asley Iles myself, reasonably priced and lot of happy users at this point. Price seems comparable to these Pinnacle chisels that Woodcraft now carries. Tools for Working Wood is a reputable dealer that folks have been buying them from, and Joel has been providing great service to folks. (I have no affiliation with Joel)

Daniel, i looked at those Pinnacles in Woodcraft last weekend and they were marked "Made in China".
