Either those are some big newels, or the funny-lookin' guy is real short and skinny. :) Very nice work Robert. Pardon the total lathe-rookie in me, but how do you carve the spirals?

Great work Robert! Am I correct to assume that you commission all your work? I would think that everything is a custom job.:confused:

Thanks for the comps. I dont carve the flutes I route them.

and short and skinny is better well then umm short and fat! :)

Actually I dont ,I get paid by the hour ...I actully get paid to turn..and well too. I just started my own business and it will be by bid ,but I will sell my own duplication services from my (day job) , and do all the large hand turning at home sweet deal.I just bid a sale of two 30 foot bats! And yes everything I do is considered custom.
