Tonight I figured I'd make a attempt at a bowl. I had to use a faceplate until I get some adapter issues taken care of for my stronghold chuck, I used a green Cherry bowl blank that was badly checked for this first try.

There was a bad crack running the length of the bowl blank so I figured this would be good to expierement on and toss it away when I was done

Hope I got the old Olly dirty enough for you guys this time. :D It was fun.

No Pete, I wouldn't give you a badly checked blank. Yours is safe.....for now.;)

I'd rather have a blank check then a checked blank.

Steve:

I have not had the chance to comment on your restored Oliver. It would look a lot better in my garage, as would that "Red thing" you have, but I suspect I would have a better chance at winning the Il State Lottery than getting either one of the above mentioned items out of your shop.

Congrats on a great restortation.

Thanks, and for the record..this is the "red thing"...you are right, play the lotto, much better odds....especially if you talk to the wife. She is much more adamant about keeping the old grocery getter than I.

I was offered 24,000.00 cash for it and she told the guy "no way" before I even had the chance for it to sink in.

Don't throw it away. Use it for holding parts when you rebuild "whatever". It's too nice for firewood.:D

Yup...it's a keeper Steve. Just slosh some stuff in there to hold her together and keep it forever. You got some good curls going there!:)
