A friend wanted a Shaker Cande Stand so as long as I was going through all of the work I would make one for my wife as well. They are cherry and are 20" diameter and 25" high.

Thanks

Quinn, those are very nice!

You turned the center piece?

What is the finish?

Cheers!

Quinn.........Excellent work! I've got to make 3. What's the finish? and did you turn them from dry wood or wet wood?

Stu and Ken

Thanks for the compliments.

I turned the center column and I trued the tops on the lathe as well. All of the wood was kiln dried. The finish is Velspar Conversion Varnish. I sprayed it on. I used 400 grit sandpaper and 4o steel wool and minwax furniture wax to buff the tops.

Really nice work. I love Shaker although I don't do very much of it. Great look to the cherry. Not the dark, can't see the wood finish that Norm Abrams likes to use. Great job all around.

I'm certainly not showing these pics to my wife! I have enough projects now. They are beautiful tables. Earl
