Seemed like a good idea at the time, but not much fun in retrospect: this stuff just hammered me with birdshot-sized chips no matter what I did. Live and learn.:p

Lee that is a good looking bowl. I like the form and finish on it. There are some woods that just do that when they are dry. Great work.

Lee....that is a wonderful piece!!!!! A real pleasing form and great colors!

For me....it was well worth you getting peppered with little hot chips just so I could see it. For me anyway!:D

For me....it was well worth you getting peppered with little hot chips just so I could see it. For me anyway!:DIf I ever open a woodturning school, I'll get Dick Cheney as a guest instructor.
And you can be the very first student.:D

Wow, I know it must of been a paint but the result was worth it. A great looking combination of not so aften turned woods together. Nice job Lee!

I like it a lot, Lee. Nice contrast, and excellent placement of that contrast. Regarding the birdshot hammering, just remember...if it was easy, everyone would want to do it. ;)

Lee,
I like the bowl a lot - even if it was a pain to turn, it was well worth it.

That's really a pretty bowl Lee. To keep from getting peppered with shavings try standing on the other side of the lathe next time;) .

Great job Lee, I have a piece of Lacewood sitting on the shelf and want to use it in a turning but I remember all the little slivers I got just making the Guitar Stand. So it is still sitting there:D

But looking at your bowl I would say what you went through was worth it. Nice job:)

Well, maybe you got hammered by the chips but, you nailed this one, Lee! :D Great combo on the woods and great form. Bet that'll hold plenty of your favorite ice-cream! :)
