Hi all,

I've been really busy with the job that supports my habits. But find spare time every now and then to make the chess set. All but the knights are done, and I made 1 knight as practice. Documented the process of making a king in:

And the latest pictures are in:

The knight I made was just practice. Didn't take very long but I want to practice on ONE more before I commit to the "REAL" wood.

Hope y'all like.

Regards,
Tim B.

You are getting there and they look great.

I had contemplated making a chess set for a while now and thanks to your inspiration I finally got started. I'm doing Walnut and Ash. The Walnut is finished and I've just started on the Ash pieces. It's a little more difficult to work than the Walnut.

I'm also eager to see your finished set.

I'd like to see them, Cody.
Is there any "significance" to the wood? Mine comes freom trees in my backyard.

Tim,
Great solution to the problem that the turning of a knight presents!

That chess set will be one to cherish.

I really like the uniqueness of each piece Tim. Just like you planned, it adds character to the entire set. Cool Knight idea!
