Hate to start a thread for such a simple thing but do any of you So Cal Creekers have a good reliable sharpening service that you use? I'm in Moreno Valley (think Riverside), CA.

TIA,

Glenn

Call Rockler in Orange: they have some kind of sharpening service, somebody who does a pick-up/drop-off every Thursday IIRC. I doubt they're making much off it...given the distance, they may just tell you who does it for them.

I'd like to find one near West LA. I used to go to a guy in Santa Monica, but he moved closer to his home in Glendale.

I hate sharpening and finishing and I'm willing to pay for others to do those tasks.

Scott's Sharpening Service in Phoenix is excellent...I'm sure one of the members who knows Scott can post the contact info as I don't have it immediately at hand.

Ellen, do you have any contact info (or a name) for the guy that moved close to Glendale? I could use a sharpener in my neck of the woods. (Although I'd also be interested in trying Scott's in Phoenix, if the price was not too much higher than a local guy.)

My local Rockler sent me to these guys. Thats who they use. I also had em make me up some band saw blades They have a minimum $25 charge so I had em make me up two blades for $15/ea while I waited. Took all of 15 minutes. While I was there I saw them putting some new carbide on some realy big TS blades.

These are both in Santa Ana. I use them or Industrial Blade, a Lenox dealer, also in Santa Ana. Farr's just did some backsaws for me at $10 each. 15" Jointer knives were $50 for the set.

Farr's is 714.972.1600 they are used by many furniture and millwork shops here in Laguna and throughout Orange County

Industrial blade: 714.557.4137 They are a Lenox dealer and weld and sell blades
