Well, I wasn't going to post this since it is a little meager project but I thought what the heck. Just a little ring box for my daughter made out of a scrap. Was just practicing some stuff in preperation for my first lidded box. First time I got little curlies flying off the lathe while hollowing. It was kind of cool. Reverse chucked it and finished the bottom with a slight hollow and then used the skew to put some decorative lines on it and on the side profile as well. Just finished with wood turners polish.

Thanks!

Corey

Looks pretty good Corey! The first couple of boxes I tried to decorate with burned lines ........I could not resist putting too many! Nice project!

Thanks guys! That is the first time I have been able to reverse chuck something and finish the bottom. The little chink is where I dropped it on the edge of the lathe while it was slick. My 9 year old daughter liked it.

When you going to get her turning? My friend introduced his 8 year old and ended up convincing his wife that she should get the jet mini and he would just have to get a a 1442. 3 years later his second daughter has inherited the mini, dauughter 1 got the 1442 and he is ordering a OneWay 2436.

Corey,

You are off to a great start and I see a box future heading your way. That looks like it was a fun project and I'll be the daughter ate that one up.

I still have not got to the boxes yet, but hopefully it won't be much longer now.

Nice job Bud

Corey that is some mighty fine work my friend. You are on your way. I can see boxes in your future. Your daughter will treasure that one especially since it is dad's first. Way to go.

No "meager project" their Corey - I see a beautiful family heirloom! Get after some bowls, they are so fun you'll wonder why you waited.
