Here is a little box, 2" tall and 2 1/2" in diameter in some curly bubinga that has to be seen to be appreciated. The curls wraps around the box in spirals and is just luminous.

My first box in bubinga. Thanks for looking...

Real nice Big Mike.

I finally got a Richard Raffin book. Looked for it in the library, but we're real small here so I got it at the Rockler in Houston. Haven't had a chance to look it over yet though.

You rule Mike!

I love the first picture - looks like a barbers pole! Very sweet and nice lines to the box - great top treatment, too.

Wow Beautiful Big Mike!
Not only are you the Box Master, But a pretty wood connoisseur! Where do you come up with this beautiful wood.
I bet you wait at the harbor for the ships to haul it in and clam to be an inspector and have to take a few samples to make sure it's ok:D

Thank you all for the nice feedback. I appreciate your kind comments.

Stu, women do seem to really like these little boxes. Nearly every one I have sold has been to a woman. A few men I have encountered collect them but they seem to be sized to fit a woman's hand.

Jimbo, this piece of wood was given to me by my son at Christmas. He and my wife have made a point of finding beautiful wood for me to use because they know how much I enjoy it.

Ernie, Richard Raffan is the master for real. I learned how to turn boxes from his book. Chuck up some wood and go for it!

Thanks again.:D

Great looking box Mike, I am starting to like Bubbinga more and more. It's one of those woods that just didn't grab me right off. Nice work.
