There were a couple of small spalted maple bowl blanks in that box of wood Bill Grumbine sent me last month. One of them caught my eye and I couldn't resist resawing it to 1/8" and making some bookmatched panels:

Forgive me, brethren, for I have fallen back on my old ways...but at least the lathe got involved a little bit while buffing out the finish.:p

I have emailed the pics to my brother. He was looking for something to make with his spalted oak.

Thanks!

Great Box Lee:) Would have looked better ROUND):DYeah, and I'd look better with a couple of strategically-placed flat sides...there's enough round to go around.
Hey, at least I rounded over the edges.:p

That is a nice looking box Lee. You did a great job on it. Like the fit and finish.
