But here's a basic cutting board I did this weekend, Walnut and Ash, currently soaking in mineral oil. Dimensions are 14" by 8".

I added the side raisers to give a board a little bounce and reduce the surface area which can come in contact with a possibly wet counter top.

Nice job, Zadih. I like the risers on the sides, The opposing grain patterns in the ash look cool too. You'll get lots of miles out of that board.

I figured of all the people you will immediately notice the grain pattern on the ash. I thoroughly enjoy some of your write ups on cutting boards, thanks for the inspiration.
