I am in the process of rearranging the shop and will be adding dedicated duct work in the process. I have been tugging around a 8' section of hose from machine to machine up until now.

I have a basement shop with a support pole almost in the middle of it. This pole made for a convenient clustering of machines. on the north side is my router table, on the west side is my planer, on the south side is my jointer and on the east side is the band saw. I like this arrangement because it takes up the least amount of space yet give me open access and full capacity for all of the machine.

My question is, how to handle the cluster of dust collection hoses. I end up having three 4" ports and 1 2.5" port all within about 2 feet of each other. These will all go into the same 6" line. The only way I can see to do it is to stack up three 4"x4"x4" wyes and one 4" x 4" x 2.5" wye all together. I want to keep the flex hose to a bare minimum.

Any other suggestions?

TIA

You can get cross laterals, which will save some vertical space (cheaper than a pair of wyes, too):

Penn State also sells a "quad drop" set:
