Well, I finally got some time to finish up a bowl that I've been working on. It's Spalted and Curly Maple. I had a tough time getting the knot to stay in the bowl without causing the whole thing to crack, but I did get it done.:D

Tung Oil finish then applied Gel Poly and buffed.

12-1/2" across and 6" tall with 3/16" walls

Terry,

My new "Stinson Steady" is a WONDERFUL addition to my turning. I sure makes things a lot more stable while finish turning. Now I wonder how I ever got along with out a Stinson Steady!!!! ;) :D

Beautiful work there Mr. Peacock. Hey...while we're here...Is it true that you shouldn't use a spalted bowl for food? I think I read that somewhere recently here.

Yea John....I seem to remember reading that somewhere....but what do I know. :o I told the LOML to give it as a "dry" food bowl, like nuts and fruit kinda thing and that it wasn't done up for a salad or wet food type bowl.

I don't know to be honest with ya....I just make'em and given'em away at the LOML's request. ;)
