I have the hitachi in my router table along with a woodpecker router lift. I have been very happy with it. Router and left together cost me around
300.00. Some 2 1/2HP routers cost that much. Take a look in seach I think you'll find that a lot of poeple use this setup for there router table.

Brian, are you talking about the M12V 15 amp plunger in your table? I think the tool that Mike is asking about is a new model...I seem to remember an ad, but don't have access right now.

Mike, in general, you can use a 12-13 amp "2.5 hp" router in a table with little problems, although spinning the big-boys is not going to be as efficient as with a heftier machine. Most of the "2.5 hp" routers are good, all-around, routers for shop use and often have multiple bases available. IMHO, they are about the best bet for folks who need to use the same machine in the table and hand-held as they have good power while still being light enough to physically handle. So...if you are considering such a machine for permanent duty in a table, fine if you don't do a lot of raised panel work, but I'd still recommend a 15 amp unit ("3 hp") for dedicated table use.
