Finally made it to a meeting of the Central Connecticut Woodturners.
I was surprised by the size of the crowd, about 40 people. (Average age about 102!!)

The meeting was held at Bolton Woodturning owned by a nice guy named Mike. He
was kind enough to let me oogle his bandsaw. I didn't bring the the camera
so I can't recall the name but it is a 42" bandsaw with white oak laminated
wheels with big metal spokes. Very cool and just thing for shaping bowl blanks!

The two main activities of the evening were show-and-yell and a demo of a
Legacy Ornamental Mill.

Show-and-yell was fun. Got to see some nice pieces and learned how some were made. Certainly was some yelling going on!

The Legacy Mill demo was interesting but I didn't learn anything I didn't already known from reading Bill Grumbine's web site. Besides, I was distracted by the really long Conover lathe I leaning against. You can put one of those on my Christmas list!:D

Seems to be a nice bunch and I look forward to the next meeting.

That is great that you can attend those meetings. I did get to one in Iowa on time but the closest chapters are either 4 hrs or 7 hrs away. Looks like you had fun David.
