Ok, Barry, this one's for you, from one of those blanks you sent me. I still have no idea what "paela" is, sounds like a Spanish rice dish, looks like some kind of cedar...somebody will be along shortly to tell me it's yet another species of eucalyptus or something.:p

About 5"x2", two coats of SealACell and buffed. Form not exactly what I had planned, but that knot/inclusion/whatever was nasty: a lot harder than the surrounding wood. And then I chickened out thinning the walls when I started to hit it from the inside. So it goes...haven't gotten to the point yet where I can impose my will on the wood.

Lee,
That is a nice looking bowl though Andy think it needs to be bigger if it is going to hold a half gallon (a serving) of Ben and Jerry's.

Here is a little info on Paela for ya...

Great bowl Lee:) :) I don't think you can ever impose your will on a piece of wood, at least I can't:)

Lee...................You can NEVER impose your will on wood, it only lets you think that you did. That is VERY spactacular!

Nice things often come in small packages, and this is true in this case. These are beautiful colors.

EXCELLENT JOB, Lee!!!!! The color of the wood is real nice and I like the shape. Looks plenty "thin" enough, `specially for a user bowl!

The redheart I've been cutting up for pen blanks and turning is like cold butter, hope that block is the same for you.

That"s a nice shape, great finish, and really beautiful grain.
If you try to impose your will, the VORTEX will strike back:eek:
