Everyone,

We just got a new Skil Mag77 worm drive saw. Man this thing is sweet! Really what we wanted.

Anyway, the blades have a diamond shaped hole in the center of them. Do you have to buy blades with that type of hole in them? If you do, where do you find them?

Can't I just use standard circular hole blades?

jeff, most 7-1/4 blades have knockouts for the worm saws...02 tod

[edit] don`t run blades with the knockout intact, you`ll mess up the arbor! glad you like the 77, you`ll most likely be using the same saw 30yrs from now! they don`t die.

Jeff, I usually use a (broken and flattened) nailset to knock out the knock-out. Almost all circ saw blades have the knock-outs although there are hard to see sometimes. They can take quite a rap to get them out and I usually do one side/end and then the other. Be careful not to hit the actual blade though, it will bend the blade and ruin it. DAMHIKT

Here's a link to a One Day Deal at Amazon for 7 1/4" carbide tipped blades. Comes out to about $3.60 per blade.

Wow that amazon deal looks great! I only go through about 1-2 blades a year though :)
