I went up to Muncy and picked up a new saw on friday (G1023SL). Pulled a muscle getting it in the shop so it isn't adjusted and powered up yet. You can see in the pic that it is replacing a Craftsman contractor that I have grown to love, but I am sure it will be a great improvement in the accuracy of my cuts/jigs etc... The people at the Grizzly store in Muncy should win an award for best customer service in the Universe in my opinion. I just wish they could have followed me home to unload that monster.

PS... I put a G0490 on back order while I was there. :)

Nice gloat Bill and the photo will keep out local photo cop off your back too! A lot of people like that saw! IF I'd found the Creek before my last saw purchase I'm sure I'd be driving one of those! Again....Great gloat!

Thanks for the pump up.
I am ready to wire her up tonight and get her tuned in.
5:00 can't come soon enough. I need to rebuild all of my jigs and install board buddies so it's gonna be a bit till I am back to my full dust producing glory, but I am pumped to say the least.

Great saw--I love mine. Nice review of it here (http://www.thewoodshop.20m.com/g1023s.htm), with some tips on setup (his site is quite helpful for many different aspects of ww'ing). Good luck!

Congrats, on the new saw. I made the same "upgrade" a few years ago. Believe me it's huge upgrade.

My back healed up pretty quick and I got her wired in, leveled out, router installed, test cuts, (8/4 Oak is now the equivalent of butter), I am just working out the router side of the fence and then it is jig building time.
The tune up was pretty much just checking for square on the blade to miter gauge and it was spot on right out of the crate.
They were remodeling the bathrooms at my day job, and I scored one of the metal stall doors for an offload table. It lets the wood slide easy and it cleans up easy.
Getting new saws is high on the list of life goals.
Thanks for being part of this most exciting moment in my life.
