Thought I would post a photo of a simple kitchen table I built for our use about twenty years ago. The 1 1/2" thick top is pine with a 50-50 wipe on poly finish, The legs are 4" pine and turned on my old Blount lathe. Mortise and tenon joinery. The aprons are 1 1/4" thick and beaded on the bottom edge. Middle stretcher (which can't be seen) is attached by sliding dovetails. Bottom is painted with Windsor Green. The drawers fit the way one likes them to fit. This table sold at my auction to a lady that I taught to cane and rush so she could take over.

Tomorrow I will cancel my ISP as I prepare for the move to California. I may or may not get back on the web depending upon what the Lord permits. Sure have enjoyed my stay at both Badger Pond and SMC and feel that I know many of you personally. My best wishes to each of you.

Keep the faith and keep working that wood.

Don

Don, first all I really like the table and matching chair. I assume that you made that chair too.

Good luck on your move and I hope that, once you settle, you will get back to both woodworking and the web.

No, better yet get back quickly. Do you realize if you leave you may leave me as patriarch of the group. You wouldn't want that! after all a patriach should be kind, considerate, lovable, like you; not - - - whatever I am.

Very seriously, do stay in touch.

Sure, I know Lake County. You'll probably be driving up I-5. I'm in Modesto which has Highway 99 running through it (which runs parallel to I-5). I'm about 70 miles southeast of S. F. Give me a wave as you pass Tracy.

If you do plan to come up 99, let me know and I'll take you and your bride out for a meal.

Safe trip to you.
