Another bowl from Spalted Walnut

Took another piece of the Spalted Walnut and since it didn't have much bark on it, I turned it over and made a more traditional bowl. I really like the way this wood looks, when done. I don't know what I'll do when I've gone through the twenty bowl blanks I made from the log. Dimentions 6-1/2" Diameter X 3" high. Wall thickness about .25".

Nice bowl Bruce! I'm going to have to find a local source for green wood and see if I can get some spalting to occur here. Here in Lewiston, our total annual moisture is only 12". 2" less and we'd be a desert. We have to start irrigating our yards usually in mid-May......We may not be able to do it or might not have the necessary fungi due to the moisture or lack there of.........?
