This Cherry bowl puts a new spin on things:D This was a fun project to add something to just a regular bowl to make it unique, I call it Screw bowl. :D
It's 9" wide X 2 3/4" tall, finish is Gel Poly and buffed with the Beall.

Come on now Jim,
You know the spinny side rules: There will be absolutely NO engine lathes allowed in the creation of art turnings.

Or to put that another way “Jeese guy, how in the world did you do THAT???”

Wow, wow, and more wow wow.

That is very cool! But like the rest, I'm scratching my head wondering how you did that rim. Multi-axis?

Looks like someone is playing with a Sorby Texture tool and using the coarse wheel.

Or in this case, made a tool like the Sorby and improved on the design and added features:D

Great bowl

Wow Jim, that is a special touch there on the rim. It looks like they were machined on there. The whole thing looks great.

Okay guys, it's been since yesterday and he hasn't answered as to how he did it. I say we hunt him down and let Raymond poke him with a stick until he gives it up. :D

I think Jim said it was a cutter on a texturing tool that either works well on a bowl or...it doesn't work very well at all. He said at the BBQ that he just happened to have this one that turned out perfectly. And he was right!! It's very pretty and great clarity on this bowl when you view it in person. :D

Thanks all for the complements

Looks like someone is playing with a Sorby Texture tool and using the coarse wheel.

Ed got it! The Sorby Texturing/Spiral Tool.
This was the first on I tried. played around on 2 more bowls with not so good results but I was trying diff styles. Think I will be doing some more like this.
