I have noticed that there are voids in the plywood I have been using for shop projects. What is the problems with using this type of plywood for let's say cabinets or furniture making projects?

There's probably not a problem unless the void is in the first laminate inside the face veneer. If it is there, you may be able to feel a soft spot if you push on the face. Of course, if you're building modern furniture which exposes the plywood edge to view, maybe you don't want the voids showing.

I usually use all A-2 grades for cabinet work that I sell.
Hardly any voids.
Shop stuff, I use lower grades, which has voids in the center plys.
Not a problem with shop stuff.
I have used lower grade ply for customers cabs, cheaper jobs, and have found voids, working around them. Say a cabinet bottom. I just turn the void to the rear of the cab. Cabinet side, turn the void the the rear.
