Typically, I send my customers a hand written note thanking them for their business, 2 or 3 weeks after the final balance has been paid. For my biggest spenders I've begun sending these out along with the note.

Just wanted to share.

Thanks for looking,
-joe

Very classy, Joe. I'll bet they don't forget you when a friend asks "who made that?"

Very nice. I know that I would feel appreciated, were I one of your customers who received one of these.

That is a GREAT idea! What better way to show that "no job is too big or too small" and that you take pride in ALL of your work. I would bet that this little item will pay for itself exponentially.

Very professional and classy. You should get many repeats because of that...

Thanks everyone for your kind words. This was actually the first one out. Only time will tell if it generates any referals.

Thanks again,

Joe,
Nice work. I’m sure they will appreciate it.
I have sent big dollar customers gifts at Christmas, and the PR effect has been worth the effort.

Joe,

You should get a second, smaller branding iron so you can put your address and phone number on the bottom.

As guests visit the home of people you worked with, the owners will probably hand them the clock to show them their woodworker's really cool, custom, "business card". If your number is on it, they may ake a moment to write it down.
