Ash Bowl

[Dick Parr]

I got this piece of ash from Rob Bourgeois at Travis's place over the weekend so I fired up the lathe to see if I can still turn after watching those guys turn all weekend.:eek: It has been about couple of weeks since the lathe has been on, but it still works.

The bowl finished up at 8-3/4" x 2-3/4" and is finished with wipe on poly and then buffed and waxed on the wheels. Left some of the worm holes in it.

Good thing about ash is after you burn it... you still have a pile of ash to work with.:rolleyes: ... and it's still early.

The Ash I get here is quite a bit lighter in color, is this color typical for the Ash you see over there?
