I finished this a couple weeks ago. Since this picture I have installed the base moulding and quarter round. I am waiting for them to paint it before I get my final pictures. We are all happy with the results.
I'll post the final pictures when it's painted.

Alden, that's a beauty. Is this for a family member or a job for someone else?

Alden,
Bruce took the words right out of my mouth, it'd be a shame to paint them but either way, it's very nice work!

Sorry guys, not kidding about the paint.
This is for someone who saw bookshelves that I made for the county fair. they waited about a year and a half before I had time to make it for them.
The staggered flutes are made using a router and edge guide.
The vent at the bottom is an air intake. They wanted the bookshelves in the position that they are in so I had to deal with the vent somehow.
Besides, it was built to be painted. You can't see the bondo :D but it covers up a couple mistakes in the fluting.

Alden, What a gorgeous set of bookcases, I just love it. Great job on the flutes and crown, what are the dimensions. It looks very large.
Will they hand brush? I just got a sprayer and can't believe the difference in finish (actually, I can believe the difference and it is really nice).
Awesome work and please post pictures when it is finished.

Nicely done Alden. There is a lot of nice detail on this piece. What are the dimensions?

Gail, I am guessing they will brush these. They have a painter that they have contracted with.
The flanking bookcases are 90" tall, 13" deep, 30" wide. The center bookcase is 96" tall, 19" deep, 30" wide. Stiles are 4 1/2" wide, stacked moulding at the top is 5" tall. That's all I can remember off the top of my head.
