Wow Lee,
The laminations really add to an already appealing form.
You are truly a spinner now!

John, all these guys are pretty damn good! I don't know, I think they are all a bunch of liars and have been turning for several years. Well, at least that is how I explain my work to my wife and family :) BTW John, if your inept, then there is just no hope for me. You do awesome work man!

Lee, that is a beautiful bowl. The two woods really compliment each other. I an getting to be a real oak fan got turning. Is it really that hard to turn? I bought a bunch of oak at an estate sale. $2 a board foot. One board is 2" thick, 12" wide and 10' long. Must weight 40 lbs. I made a morris chair and foot stool maybe I will have to glue some up and try turning it.

Nice job, Lee. For a "second", that's pretty special, both because of the construction and because of the nice curved form. The tendency for most beginning turners is more "flat bottomed" vessels...which is not bad, but frankly is actually harder to turn. A nice flowing curve like you did is easier to do 'cause you don't have to deal with an abrupt corner!

I think I'm with John and Corey on this one - all you "new" turners just keep setting the bar higher and higher . . .

*sigh*

Someday, I'll have a bowl to show off . . . maybe . . . if I can keep it on the lathe long enough to finish it. :(
