First try at candle holders, using glass tea-light holders from Ikea:

First is plain old red oak, second is yet another chunk of cherrnut. I think I've finally got a handle on the finish: a very thin coat of GF Seal-A-Cell before buffing seems to work wonders...either that or I finally got the buffing wheels loaded up enough.:p

Those are neat Lee, nice job. Can you point to a link to those tea light holders? The finish does look great!!

CoreyThis is as close as I could find on their web site:

My GF found the ones I used at the local store: about 2" diameter, 1 3/8" high...couple bucks for a set of six in assorted colors. I'd like to find them in plain frosted.

Lee .......Fantastic job on those candle holders.......You might check the local "Marts".....votive(sp?) candle holders would probably work well too! The LOML and her shopping buddy buy similar ones at the local Mart for nearly nothing.....

...but apparently GF's "Ikea-fu" is much stronger than mine:

She says they also have a "red" set, which is where the two I have came from.

Nice job on both of them, Lee! Neat idea as an alternative to the confetti lamps and such. May have to try my hand at a couple of those, but I'll need to get my supplies elsewhere, as we don't have an Ikea around here. :)
