Finally got my new miter saw. Bosch 5412L. Its sitting on a Rigid MSUV, and the blade is a Forrest Chopmaster.

I think this is the first stationary power tool I've bought that was dead on from the factory. Perfect 45 and 90 to the table; perfect 90 to the fence. Just made a few practice cuts tonight, as we have guests coming over.

I had guests tonight too. He is a fellow woodworker so we spent all day building loft beds for three kids.

Ran the new baby Delta power feeder through its paces. Not an industiral unit by any means but $260 very well spent.

Hide the ketchup in the shop and tell them you need to run for more. That shoud buy you an hour of shop time. :D

I have a neighbor that is a WWer, but that wasn't who came over tonight. I like these folks, but they're not into it. At one point, the wives were talking about area rugs, and I told the guy we could go downstairs and check out my new miter saw, but I didn't get a bite.

Now, I've had a few beers, so I'll stay away from the sharp spinning things. But, I can always surf the creek...

Mark, you're welcome to come over anytime.

Gary I've got a garden shed to build and have been looking at just such a setup to make it easier than running back to the shop to make a cut. I could bait you with a little beer and set a trap for your saw, you see:)

I do tend to fall for the beer ploy over and over again.

Very nice, Garry! I'm curious...exactly how wide is the unit (without any extension tables) as I'm thinking about replacing my current CMS with a different saw at some point and whatever I buy needs to fit into my miter station.

Jim, I think you'd want at least 27" to account for all the knobs and little protrusions.
