shop made band saw

saw this while surfing.

I am thinking of trying something like this.
Any one ever seen anything like this? It's a shop made band saw.

My father made a 16" bandsaw for his shop from a kit & plans. The kit had all the hardware items and the plans showed how to make the wooden frames and such. It worked pretty well too. It is still in the shop at my mother's house. It was too large to fit in my shop and my mom wanted a saw she could use without being afraid for her fingers.
