Finished hanging these oak and walnut picture frames tonight after mounting the artwork in them. Have had this artwork for about two or three years in anticipation of the bar room being completed and finally getting the frames built. The frames are a shadowbox style of frame and are a very simple design.

Roughly 2 ¼” deep, they are fabbed from ¾” thick oak and utilize a ¼” wide rabbit in the back for containing the artwork, matting, glazing and foamcore backing. Corners were fortified with #10 biscuits to help prevent shear. A simple chamfer on both the inside and outside edges of the fronts of the frames is highlighted by an inlay strip of walnut between them. Finish was Waterlox high gloss.

I have to thank Andy London for some help on the hanging of the frames. I was a bit lost on how to best hang the frames so that they would sit flush with the wall. Andy came back quickly with the suggestion of using a French cleat method and it worked like a charm.

'Seems like just yesterday I was asking you when you were going to fill up those walls...and you did a bang-up job, Fred! Very nice frames and right in keeping with the room design and theme. Beautiful!
